Professional development
My development journey has mainly been focusing around solving challenges and leading projects in the finance, accounting and business domain with occasionally putting my nose and expertise into wholesale, retail, commercial real estate, production and automotive industry.
I like to learn and grow as well as teach others along the way.
It excites me to work on challenges with different levels of complexity in variety of fields.
My latest experience in fintech is a box of experience in itself – very different pace, culture, scale and speed compared to conventional businesses.
Over the last years I have had awesome opportunities as a freelancer and business owner to support various businesses in their development. From Database integrations to analytical models to Venture Capital (VC) models – a wonderful mixed bag of experience to cherish and build on. The wiser I get the more I lean towards freelancing challenges.
Feel free to learn from my experiences, projects and growth in the Blog.
Education & skills
I have a Degree from Tartu University in Business & Project Management that provided the basic theory, but to be fair it’s the real life challenges, companies, people and experiences that have built me with the mixed set of skills I have.
Over time I have thought myself Structured Quering Language (SQL) & databases, Business Intelligence (BI) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, reconciliation principles, key accounting logics (IFRS) for companies and corporations as well as hedging instruments and foreign currency (FX) accounting. Nowadays everything can be learnt online but I also like to listen and learn from the real pro’s who have walked the walk.
I have had the honour and privilege to lead wonderful superstars of their field of expertise, encourage, educate and build their skills. Whilst being a direct assigned lead as well as cross-type lead and sometimes just a role model (through leading by example), I am happy to say that each and every experience has grown me and has value that has no price tag. I’m a team player at heart but capabale of carrying out solo missions if needed.

Outside of work
I’m a strong believer in work life balance.
As a person I am the active type – my body, brain and soul are always ready for an adventure.
I love riding motorcycles, bicycles & snowboards, but also am a huge fan of sailing, hiking, training and growing plants – basil, avocado, strawberries and watermelons to name a few. An active body has been given an active mind as well, both need nurturing and care. This is actually something I have figured out only lately (over last 5 or so years). Which means I do try to meditate, eat healthy, drink water and walk, wake up early to get good sleep to feel fresh every day.
I consider myself as approachable, friendly and open – even if the grim reaper tattoo on my right arm might point otherwise. That tattoo has an absolutely different meaning and association to me, feel free to try and guess in case we ever meet in person.
For those of You who believe Human Design (HD) is a thing, I classify as a Manifesting Generator and it does seem to explain my persona quite accurately.
